Steps
1. Always examine with the vet first to make sure that your animals tear spots are not being due to a medical or physical issue like sensitive response or in-grown hair. Extreme crying, which give rise to tear spots can be due to ear attacks. Your vet's feedback is important.
2. Extreme ripping associated with tear spots is sometimes due to teething. If you have a puppy dog that is teething, either wait until the teething is complete, or use a wide spread item like Split Dirt Away, Eye Jealousy, or Angel Eyes.
3. Look at the pup's diet. Be sure that there are no colors in your pup's meals. Also, if beet pulp is on the petfood component list, change meals. The pet meals producers often include it because the great glucose material of the beet pulp makes the pet meals fantastic. It is not dangerous, but can give rise to tear spots.
4. Eliminate all foods that contain gluten, rice, or other feed filler injections. These may be resulting in a light sensitivity that is increasing tear manufacturing.
5. If you have great nutrient material in your household nutrient water (well nutrient water, manganese, metal, etc) change to drinking nutrient water, available at the grocery store.
6. Use a stainless-steel or plastic providing and irrigating dish. Otherwise, materials may leach into the meals and/or nutrient water and give rise to tear spots.
7. If the above actions do not fix the problem, then a wide spread item like Extra Durability Split Dirt System by Benefit Pet Items, LLC or Angels Eyes by I'm A Little Teacup, LLC. should be used. The products and others like them have great results when spread on a pet's or pet's meals. They contain different amounts of macrolide medications and anti-oxidents that will remove the main cause of tear spots, Red Fungus dangerous bacteria and Porphyrins. They are safe and work well.
Tips
Use excellent daily cleanliness on your animals face. The crusty, unpleasant “stuff” that builds up around your animals sight can be eliminated by carefully cleaning a smooth fabric saturated in warm nutrient water from the inside area of the animals eye external toward the tip of the nasal area. When you have done this several times, you may want to complete up by, again – “gently” brushing the hair with the same “inside out to the nose” movement using a small, fine teeth, flea clean. This will NOT remove the long lasting staining, but will help reduce pain and the smell that is associated often with tear spots.
Warnings
Do not use gels, whitening, or bleach on the hair around your pup's sight. No matter how cautious you are, it can pull up into the eye and cause serious pain and damage.
