Epileptic convulsions have several levels. If your dog has more than one seizure in his lifetime, or persistent convulsions, you will most likely begin to identify the warning signs of a seizure before they happen. Here are the warning signs of the different phases:
1. During the prodome stage your canine's feelings and actions will begin to modify. This is the interval major up to the seizure and it may happen moments, time or times before the seizure.
2. The element or pre-seizure level happens a few moments before the seizure. During now your dog may be unsettled. He will probably speed, look for passion, salivate, protest or even try to cover up. Some pets may debris, move or pee.
3. The Ictus is the seizure itself. Some pets may reduce awareness. It's not unusual for a dog to gnash his tooth, perform his oral cavity, toss his go around, or thrash with his feet. Dogs may spit, cry, exercise their feet as though they're operating. Some pets may come unglued of their bladders or bowels. During this level the dog is unacquainted with you or his environment. The Ictus level usually continues about five moments.
For some pets the seizure may be nearby to one place such as a leg or the experience.
4. During the post-Ictal stage your dog will be in a restoration interval. He may appear to be confused and uncoordinated. He may be momentarily sightless. This interval can last from a few moments to a few times. Some pets will basically go to rest during now.
